Chasing Butterflies

I was chasing the Swallowtail Butterflies and found that once I stood still, they came to where I was.

What fun!

La Copita Ranch

This year our trip to LaCopita Ranch proved to be more colourful then last year (photo below)
The rain this year allowed so many more plants to bloom.

Everywhere we looked there was colour.
We walked and stood for a day and a half, there just wasn't enough hours to capture it all.
A most enjoyable visit.   I will share more photos from this trip but first I need to soak my tired feet.

Spring Not Yet Sprung

It's that time of year to look behind you as Winter leaves us.
Look ahead for signs of Spring.
Soon buds will be seen everywhere.

Couldn't Be Better

Out for the morning to take photos.   These are my picks of the day.

This is the Couch's Kingbird perched atop of this tree, above is his take off.  I love getting flight shots.
This is the Scissor tailed Flycatcher, up until today I have only seen these from the vehicle  window but today I got a photo of him, Ya! Couldn't be better.

Lucky Green

In Texas I feel lucky to see the Green Jay as often as I do.
This looks like a lucky catch.
Are you lucky enough to spot the clover?

Prickly Subject

A walk along the trails at Chihuahua Park on a Saturday morning.
This ant carefully walks about the thorns on this cacti.
These flowers are beautiful to see but you don't want to touch.
What a lovely walk, thorns and all.

Negative Painting

Negative Painting is when you paint the space around the subject, these spaces are seen as shapes.
Once that is done the detail is painted to the main subject, in this picture it is the Clematis vine, it is a challenge to see only the shapes around a subject.
